Bald Head Island Recap
Wonderful Weekend on BHI!
The weather was beautiful, the ocean was blue, and fun was had by all! A total of 14 sailing and cruising boats made the trip! On Friday, the early attendees had lunch together at Jules’ outside patio. Some were new members, so it was nice to have the opportunity to meet them.
Friday night was the Pizza party on Dock A, where we had 34 attendees for a variety of pizzas from Delphina’s Restaurant.
Of course, it was BYOB, and everyone had a drink in hand! Snacks and cookies were provided to the hungry crew, too! Lots of laughs and conversations took place. We even had three “boat” dogs to keep us company, Libby Board, Remi Rampy and Chuck Plaine! After the dock party, more parties commenced on several boats on the A dock! The Rampy’s and Thompson’s boats were very popular!
Saturday night was dinner at Jules’ Restaurant, where we had 30 members and guests attending. This year we had the dinner inside their dining room, as the nasty gnats prevented an outdoor venue! The food was delicious and everyone had a great time!
On Saturday, most members rented golf carts or bikes and toured the island to shop and see the sights. BHI is such a beautiful island with lush greenery and sandy beaches to see. Everyone was on their own for lunch and of course ice cream was involved for a few!
We also had a christening of a new boat owned by Kathy and Bob Johnson. The name is Lagniappe
(pronounced Lan-yap). Deacon Dartboard (aka Jim Board) did the christening of their new 30’ Cutwater on Saturday night before dinner at Jules’.
Four new members in attendance were Dan and Kath Craig, Dan and Barbie Roth and one wait list couple, Charlene and Walter Plaine (with their dog, Chuck).
Here is a link to some of the incriminating pictures taken while on BHI last weekend.
